Official Performance Portland notes

Why Is This Important?

The Graffiti Abatement Program monitors the Graffiti Reporting Portal for the City of Portland. This metric tells us the total number of reports that have been abated through our program by our contractors on private property. This number does not indicate the total number of reports that we process, as it does not show the number of reports that are sent to our public partners, such as, but not limited to, the Portland Bureau of Transportation, Portland Parks Bureau, Tri-Met, or ODOT. Additionally, it does not show the number of reports that are abated by the property owner or reports that are still being worked on.

What Do The Numbers Show?

The number show that quarter to quarter there can be substance differences in the number of abated reports, but overall there is a lot of work being done to clean graffiti in the City of Portland.

How Did We Arrive at These Numbers?

The Graffiti Abatement Program tracks all graffiti reports through the Graffiti Reporting Portal and once we have a signed waiver form from the property or business owner, we send the reports that qualify for the Program for abatement to our contractors to address. In closing the graffiti report as resolved, the contractors submit before and after photos and the total square footage of the abated graffiti. For this metric, we combined the total number of graffiti reports that were resolved by our contractors per each quarter of the fiscal year.
