Start with three things

Only your address is sent for lookup. Income stays in this browser. We retrieve the public county bill.

01 / FIND YOUR PLACE

Your address determines the districts.
Your income determines the income taxes.

For Multnomah County properties, we retrieve the current bill and its district charges automatically.

Clear about what we know

The address does the local work

Official maps identify Portland, Multnomah County and Metro membership. The county district list identifies property-tax authorities. Mailing city and ZIP code alone are not used as tax boundaries.

The bill supplies exact levies

We retrieve the current Multnomah County statement automatically, including local options, bonds, pensions and urban renewal. Every line must add up to its printed total, and the account and year must match. Unavailable bills stay out of the subtotal.

Income starts as an estimate

A standard wage-income scenario produces the first estimate. Filing status and return figures refine it. Spending taxes need purchase details; an address and income cannot establish every tax a household pays.

Coverage, assumptions & official sources

This calculator covers Portland-area local taxes and Oregon taxes. It does not calculate every Oregon city’s taxes, every business or estate circumstance, or the economic share of taxes embedded in rent and prices. One income entry represents one tax return, not unrelated adults or multiple separate returns.

  • Alcohol, cigarettes, tobacco and vaping: excise taxes can be embedded in prices; quantities and product details are needed.
  • Utility and telecommunications bills: distinguish taxes, government franchise charges, provider surcharges and service charges.
  • Purchases outside Portland or Oregon, diesel and other fuels, vehicle privilege-tax pass-throughs, airfare and travel assessments.
  • Other business taxes and assessments, real-estate transfers, estates, special assessments, permits and licenses.
  • Employer-paid taxes and taxes embedded in rent or business prices: an exact household share cannot be inferred from an address or income.

Rules reviewed October 27, 2026. This local preview is an educational tax breakdown, not a completed tax return.
